The cistern is mounted to the wall and is connected to the pan with a PVC flush pipe. The flushpipe is then covered by a plastic apron (link) to create a neater look to the suite.
Connector suites are generally the cheapest type of toilet suite available and in most cases will allow for the greatest set out adjustability.
Connector suites are available with either a plastic or vitreous china cistern. The pans will all be made from vitreous china.
Some suites will also be available with a soft closing seat. The soft closing seat has a special hinge which stops the seat from being dropped closed, instead slowly allowing the seat to close.
Connector toilet suites are available in designs to suit traditional, contemporary and modern bathrooms.
TRAP TYPES
- Connector suites are available in S Trap and P Trap. There a few suites available with a Skew Trap.
- S Trap suites have the waste pipe go through the floor, P Trap suites have the waste go out through the wall, and Skew trap suites have the waste go out through the wall to the side of the pan.
SET OUT MEASUREMENTS
- Set out measurements refer to the distance from the wall/floor to the centre of the waste pipe going through the floor/wall.
- The set out measurement is going to be one of the most important pieces of information needed when selecting a toilet suite.
- Connector suites will generally have the greatest set out range due to the length of the flushpipe. The set out range can vary anywhere from 80mm to 300mm or more.
- If the standard flushpipe that comes with the suite is not long enough, longer flushpipes are available separately.
WATER INLET POSITION
- Connector suites have the water supply enter the cistern from the bottom of the cistern (Bottom Inlet). The cistern tap will be located next to the pan near the floor.
WELS REQUIREMENTS
- It is now a requirement that all toilet suites comply with the WELS water rating regulation. This requires new homes to install a 4 star / 4.5lt full flush toilet suite, however 3 star/ 6lt suites can be installed in renovations
